This is a significant move. Bun has been growing rapidly and Anthropic acquiring it suggests they want to control the full stack from AI model to developer tooling.
The concern is not about Bun itself but about the pattern of AI companies acquiring developer tools. First GitHub/Microsoft, now this.
I think this is actually good for Bun users. Anthropic has resources to make it production-ready faster than the small team could.
