为什么值得看
Wi-Fi 8(IEEE 802.11bn)首次不以速度为卖点,而是聚焦"超高可靠性",通过多AP协调、确定性调度等技术降低延迟和抖动。对AI工程师而言,这意味着边缘推理、机器人控制、实时音视频等对稳定性敏感的场景将获得原生网络层支持。

Wi-Fi 6/7的OFDMA和MLO已经把物理层榨得差不多了,再堆频宽和MIMO对大多数场景是边际递减。Wi-Fi 8转向可靠性,本质是学5G URLLC的路子,用协调调度换确定性。
这对做端侧AI和机器人的人很关键:以前工厂里宁可拉网线也不用Wi-Fi,就是因为CSMA/CA的随机退避不可控。Wi-Fi 8如果真能实现ms级抖动保证,工业视觉检测、AGV调度、AR远程协助这些场景的无线化门槛会大幅降低。
不过标准2028年才冻结,芯片更晚。现在做相关产品的团队,建议先盯Wi-Fi 7的MLO实际表现,同时把应用层容错(缓冲、预测、重传策略)做好,别等标准救命。

Makes sense since a lot of networks don't have access to speed. The highest speeds in my area are around 150MBps, so 5-6GBps or whatever is a perfectly fine upper bound for me. Range and congestion however has been an issue.
You used the wrong units there. Should be Mbps and Gbps.
I did not use the wrong units, I converted them. The speeds available in my area currently max out at 1.2Gbps which is 150MBps.
